Michael Sgroi, CPO, LPO, PT
President of Clinical Services
Mike is the President of Clinical Services and head prosthetist/orthotist at Allcare Orthotic and Prosthetic Services. After graduating from the University of Scranton in 2003 with his Masters in Physical Therapy, Mike completed a residency at a well-known Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockland County. It was here, that Mike gained exposure to the field of orthotics and prosthetics and made the decision to attend Northwestern University, where he gained his O and P certification in 2004. Mike has been practicing in the NY/NJ area for over 10 years and has treated patients of all levels, ranging from the professional athlete to the pediatric population. Mike takes a very individualized approach to treating all of his patients combining his physical therapy background with cutting edge technology.
Richard Lerner, President of Operations
Rich began his career in healthcare working in his dad’s pharmacy after graduating college. When his dad sold the pharmacy seven years later, Rich founded and became President of Allcare Medical and later Allcare Orthotic & Prosthetic Services, both of which grew into two of the most recognized healthcare companies in the New York metropolitan area. After 20 years Rich sold Allcare Medical and is now focusing his full time and attention in Allcare Orthotic & Prosthetic Services. Rich is responsible for overseeing all administrative aspects of the business including, but not limited to logistics, insurance contracting, compliance and human resources.
James Spiegel, Vice President
Certified Peer Visitor – Adaptive Athlete – R.B.K.A
James attended Drew University where he received his bachelors and soon after graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology with his masters. Over the last 12 years, James has spent his time focusing on business development within the medical community. James brings years of experience and a unique approach to dealing with patients, doctors and rehabilitation centers. After losing his right leg below the knee, James realized that there was a need for certified peer visitors and soon gained his certification. As an athlete in the CAF, James participates in running and swimming events and stays active through kickboxing and playing golf.
Gerry Fleming, CPO, LPO, CPed
Allcare Orthotic & Prosthetic Services is thrilled to announce that Gerry Fleming, CPO, LPO, CPed, has joined our growing clinical team. Gerry has been a practitioner in the orthotics and prosthetics field for 25 years. He has a bachelor of science degree from Nyack College and is certified through the American Board for Certification in the field of Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics and Licensed in the State of New Jersey for Prosthetics and Orthotics.
Having lost his left leg in a car accident 38 years ago, Gerry brings to his work not only superior professional skills but also a deep understanding of the physical and emotional challenges of the disabled. He has devoted his career to providing proper fitting prosthetics and orthotics so that people can live functional and productive lives. Gerry has continued to grow in his knowledge, certifications, and his usage of the newest and the most cutting edge technology available today.
For almost 40 years Gerry has been involved in the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) first as a player and currently as coach of the New York Rollin’ Knicks of the NWBA, the 2014 NWBA National Champions. He believes that this experience has provided him with endless examples of what an individual can accomplish, regardless of his or her disability. He presently serves on the Division I committee for the NWBA. Gerry is also past Board President of the Westchester Independent Living Center in White Plains, N.Y.
He and his wife Mary Fran, a physical therapist, have two wonderful adult children, Nichole and Paul.
Michael Yiallourides, MSPO, CPO, LPO
Michael began working in the orthotics & prosthetics field in 2012. He began training to be a certified fitter at Rothman Institute Orthopaedics assisting orthotsists and performing intensive fracture care. He then decided to pursue full certification as a prosthetist-orthotist. Michael graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Master’s degree in orthotics and prosthetics. While there, he completed several clinical rotations in various O&P clinics gaining epxerience with the latest technologies and methods in O&P treatment. In 2016, he completed his dual residency with Allcare and went on to obtain dual board certification and state licensure. Michael has a diverse background with various types of rehabilitation and healthcare settings. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Towson University where he also gained experience working in physiology labs, physical therapy clinics, and hospitals.
Michael brings varied experience to Allcare where he treats patient of all types. He is dedicated to compassionate patient care and helping people have more mobile, healthful lives.
Mike joined Allcare Orthotic and Prosthetic Services in August of 2014 as our Lab Manager. Mike brings 30 years of custom fabrication experience to us and is in charge of quality control. Mike’s attention to detail and skilled precision is what helps set Allcare Orthotic and Prosthetic Services apart from others.
